It is about blogging in general.
I figure blogging is an okay topic to write on this... since it is a blog
Okkk first I should say that this blog is for school, and I have never had a blog before this.
I always thought blogging was something for nerds to do :P
(Note to Ken: this is a large topic of my presentation, so you may wanna wait to read)
So I begun mine... I think my blog is a cool topic and I'm gonna have a few hits. I don't really care tho; I'm not gonna compete with classmates over who has more blog hits!!
But anyway, I can tell my blog isn't getting many-- or any-- hits. This is quite queer I think to myself. I'm not even sure where (if it even does) it says you have so many hits... And no one has left any comments, so I have no clue.
So I decide I'm gonna get creative. I'm going to make a space where you can say if the article was "Funny" or "Interesting" and something else. Then I'll know if people are actually reading it.
Wellp, that didn't really work.
My friend told me she thought that the NHL was better than the NFL. It's close in my book, so I thought I'd throw down an interesting poll. People love polls... so I make one. I vote on it, cuz, well, it's MY blog. My friend votes on it, cuz she's cool
NO ONE ELSE VOTED!! (There is still 34 days left to vote however)
So, being a curious cat, I wondered why. I mean, my subjects are definitely popular enough to get some hits.
I mean, let’s be serious.......
So curious cat borrowed some ambition, and delved into his bag of knowledge. I think, s'ok, I don't even know why not. BUT I HAVE AN IDEA!!
I copied a portion of one of my posts, went to Google, and pasted it in...
I searched... and I got some results
But NONE were from my blog. Wtf I think. WTF!!!!!!!! I’m saying to myself, geez, what’s a guy got to do??
So no wonder I have no hits... my blog doesn’t even show up when I search an exact segment from it!

I thought that my blog may be at a bad site. Maybe Blogger is crap... I dunno; could be
So, I got kinda deterred from blogging cuz no one was reading.
WHAT TO DO?
I went to Google again, and this time I searched “how to promote your blog”
I clicked about the first ten hits, and I register my blog
I feel productive, and think the hits are gonna start rolling in
But I get a few emails that night...

BSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!! Are you kidding me?
Like, I understand not enough posts. I know I didn’t have a ton of posts then (only like 3, but they were 3 good ones!!), but c’mon, you gotta start somewhere!! And I mean, what do they expect of new bloggers??
Do they just hope that we’ll be satisfied posting aimlessly until the time comes where we have enough posts??
People with ADD will lose interest... let’s be serious here :) and people who are busy will too
Although deterred, I knew I still had to do it. But I’m feeling disconnected, and to be honest, if I feel my work isn’t appreciated, then I’m just not going to do it

So, after this class, unless I get some serious random hits, I’m probably not gonna even bother....
