The Jets in need of their own bowing 747

The New York Jets are in big need of a big-play receiver. They have a new coach in Rex Ryan, who brings a tough feel to the team;
they also possess a solid defense anchored by former Raven Bart Scott as well as upcoming corner Darelle Revis;
a good running back in Thomas Jones; and a promising first-round draft pick quarterback in Mark Sanchez, who coming from a big school, such as USC, looks to be a franchise player.
But albeit, he’s a rookie.
A rookie.
In New York.

That is a scary combination. The pressure that he may feel may be too much to handle. What no one wants is him to succumb to this pressure, and become alike the many failed superstar athletes in New York. Jets fans do not want him to be alike former New York Knick Stephon Marbury, who grew into a money fiend and needed all the attention (and all the shots too...). And Jets fans don’t want him to develop into a Plaxico Burress, who, as part of fellow New York City football club, the New York Giants, despite great success on the football field, felt the need to bring a gun into a New York nightclub, nearly dismembering himself. Nor do Jets fans want him to be alike several New York Yankee players who felt the need to get ahead of the curb on their fellow players, and gave in to performance enhancing drugs. These may be irrelevant to the game itself, but they could be (and probably are) attempted answers to pressure.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns are in a rut. Here they are, still winless at 0-4, and they have big questions to deal with... foremost being who they have throwing the pigskin at quarterback. Aside from settling on a decent quarterback, they have a disgruntled wide receiver, Braylon Edwards.
Edwards has an inordinate amount of skill, but with Cleveland’s issue at quarterback, is not maximizing his skill. He has never been happy in Cleveland anyway, citing that his college background, star wideout of the Michigan Wolverines, had already cast him in a negative light with Ohio citizens (Michigan has a monstrous rivalry with Ohio State).

On October 7th, all these factors boiled over and Edwards was traded to the New York Jets for fellow wideout Chansi Stuckey, linebacker Jason Trusnik, and two draft picks. No one can be sure of the prospects, but it appears that the Jets really got Edwards on sale (Schefter, espn.com).

The Jets are in a very difficult AFC East, which pits the New England Patriots, who were undefeated just two seasons ago, the offensive trailblazing Miami Dolphins, and the underachieving Buffalo Bills. Last season, the Jets were just 9-7, despite beginning the year 8-3. The Dolphins and the Patriots went 11-5 last season.
The division, this year, is wide open. I think this is a spectacular acquisition for the Jets, pushing their postseason chances to very possible, despite their tough division.
The acquiring of Edwards also takes loads of pressure off Sanchez . Edwards is a Hollywood type, who embraces the glamour of NYC. Sanchez, who, as a rookie, already is in the spotlight of New York, and being quarterback of his team, is likely going crazy with the all attention.
Even if he doesn’t show it.

We shall see if, Braylon,
can keep the rest of the divison trailin’
Maybe the Jets,
can remain as the AFC East’s best.
